Congratulations to the 7th/8th grade bands on outstanding performances this week. The concert on Thursday evening was awesome and the parade on Saturday was spectacular. I appreciate everyone’s hard work in preparation for these two events and also appreciate the enthusiasm that you all bring to the table! Thank you all!!!

As always, if you have photos or videos of these performances get them to me as soon as you are able. Some of the photos may be used in our yearbook as well!

6th grade Band: This band is sounding really good – it all has to do with the amount of practice they are putting in!!! (FYI – Our first concert is on Tuesday, December 14)
The test piece for this Thursday (periods 1 & 3), Friday (period 7) is #40 on pg. 13. Play the whole piece – both first and second endings.
Pieces to practice: “Holiday Sampler”, “March of the Spartans” & “Eagle Summit March”

7th and 8th grade Bands: Both bands will start new music this week. It’s a really crazy week with the conference schedule but I’m confident that we’ll all stay focused, right?
The test for both bands this week is a one octave chromatic scale – we’ll talk about it Monday.
7th grade will test on Friday
8th grade will test on Thursday

7th/8th Jazz Band: The students have four pieces to be working on “I Can’t Stop Lovin’ You”, “Pico De Gallo”, “Do Nothin’ ’til You Hear From Me” & “Drum Boogie”. Sound clips are available on our website for most of the pieces as well. Remember that our first performance is at the WSU Jazz Festival on November 3 during the school day. Information will be sent home this week!!
Also, remember that this class starts at 7:30am.
