Congratulations to the 7th/8th grade Jazz band for your excellent performance for the annual Kiwanis Pancake breakfast on Saturday!Â You all are awesome!!!
6th grade Band:Â Â (FYI – Our first concert is on Tuesday, December 14)
Try working as far ahead in your book as you can get.Â Remember to always play with a good tone andÂ great rhythm!!!Â There is a real nice solo on page 34 in your book that you should start working on.
Pieces to practice: “First Concert March”, “Holiday Sampler”, “March of the Spartans”, “Eagle Summit March”, â€œIntensityâ€ & â€œAffirmationâ€.
You will play the first four listed above for the winter concert on Tuesday, December 14.Â Be sure to have black and white concert clothing.
7th and 8th grade Bands:Â Both bands will get new music this week.Â Keep working on the pieces for the winter concert as well!
7th – Parade of the Tin Soldiers, FireburstÂ Fanfare, The Great American Frontier, Christmas Canon
8th –Â Cantique De Noel, Forest Brook Overture, The Impossible Machine & Caribbean Christmas
7th/8th Jazz Band I:Â The studentsÂ haveÂ four piecesÂ to be working on “I Can’t Stop Lovin’ You”, “Pico De Gallo”, “Do Nothin’ ’til You Hear From Me”, “Heat Miser”, â€œJingle Bellsâ€, â€œAngels Weâ€™ve Heardâ€ & “Drum Boogie”.Â Sound clipsÂ are availableÂ on our website for most of the pieces as well.
We will perform “Heat Miser” & â€œAngels Weâ€™ve Heardâ€ on the winter concert.
