    Hello LMS Band parents/students:

    Items to note this week, May 23 – May 27:

    Practice slips are due Monday – May 23! – 40% of the grade!

    6th grade Concert Band:
    This week we will be working on memorizing Parade America and Gitchi Goo. We will also be trying to get outside as much as possible to try putting the music together with the marching! I said that we would have a test this week but I’ve decided to use this week as a make-up week for previous tests. Friday we will start our CBPA (the Washington State Classroom Based Performance Assessment) and finish it on Tuesday of next week.

    6th grade Jazz Band:
    Great job on the concert last week. You’ve had a wonderful start and I’m looking forward to next year!!!

    7th grade Concert Band:
    We will work on Aladdin and John Williams Trilogy to play on the concert this Thursday evening. We will also be working on memorizing Parade America and Gitchi Goo. We will be trying to get outside as much as possible to try putting the music together with the marching! I said that we would have a test this week but I’ve decided to use this week as a make-up week for previous tests. Friday we will start our CBPA (the Washington State Classroom Based Performance Assessment) and finish it on Tuesday of next week.

    8th grade Concert Band:
    We will have combined rehearsals from 3:00-3:30 with the 7th/8th grade Orchestra on Tuesday, May 24th and Wednesday, May 25th in room 806. We will work on Harry Potter, Ashokan Farewell & Rites of Tamburo.

    We will work on Lion King and Pirates of the Caribbean to play on the concert this Thursday evening. We will also be working on memorizing Parade America and Gitchi Goo.     7th/8th Jazz Band I:
    Excellent job on the concert last week! You played great for your last concert of the year!! I will miss the eighth graders but am also looking forward to the seventh graders leadership next year.
